What you'll do
- Own and govern day-to-day general ledger operations and deliver accurate, on-time closes, partnering with FP&A and cross-functional teams
- Lead, coach and mentor a high-performing accounting team, owning onboarding, ongoing training, and performance development to support both individual growth and team objectives
- Review Balance Sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements with a focus on automation, consistency, and audit readiness
- Assist in statutory audits and filings across international entities, ensuring compliance with local regulations and deadlines
- Oversee international indirect tax filings; collaborate closely with our tax team on statutory compliance and returns outside the US and Canada
- Build strong, trust-based relationships across the business; become the go-to partner for operations, tax, and FP&A
- Drive process improvement: simplify, standardize, and automate close activities to increase accuracy, efficiency, and speed
- Support acquisition integrations, aligning new entities to Diligent's accounting policies, controls, and close cadence
- Champion an AI-first and automation led mindset within the team; use agents and automation to streamline reconciliations, variance analysis, recurring journals, audit support packages, documentation drafts, and GL anomaly detection
- Act as the human in the loop for bot-generated outputs: reviewing, approving and continuously improving what the automation produces
- Set standards for data-driven decision making; leverage ERP analytics and spreadsheets to build self-serve reports and surface insights; iterate on dashboards and close checklists to continuously improve the close
Required Experience/Skills
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Progressive experience in accounting is required, along with 3+ years of people management experience
- Solid experience leading or supervising accounting operations, including month-end close and general ledger ownership
- Strong technical accounting foundation, with hands-on expertise in reconciliations and variance analysis
- Effective people leadership and communication skills to lead a team, prioritize workloads, set goals, and collaborate crossfunctionally with finance and business partners
- Hands-on, energetic, organized, and adaptable; able to prioritize projects, multitask, work independently, and simplify/automate processes for efficiency
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities, high attention to detail, and the ability to deliver accurate, timely outputs under tight deadlines
- Experience in a global finance function of a multi-location, multinational corporation - SaaS or technology sector background a strong advantage
- Mindset for automation and continuous improvement; proficient with spreadsheets and data tools, and eager to pilot AI-assisted workflows to raise the bar on what Finance can deliver Working knowledge of Netsuite or a similar ERP product
