Role Overview

The Regional District Society Executive will play a pivotal role in driving the success of both the Northwest and Midwest District Societies. This full-time position combines the responsibilities of financial management, administration, outreach, sponsorship, and, most importantly, comprehensive event management. The Executive will orchestrate high-impact programs, enhance member engagement, and ensure the seamless delivery of events across both regions, serving as the cornerstone for society operations and growth.


Role will suit candidates that have the ability to travel within Midwest and Northwest area of Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

1. Event Management Program Delivery

  • Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of all society events, including seminars, conferences, social gatherings, and regional outreach initiatives for both Northwest and Midwest societies.

  • Oversee event logistics, budgeting, venue selection, supplier coordination, catering, registration, and on-site management to guarantee a professional and memorable experience for attendees.

  • Develop and maintain annual event calendars and project plans, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and member interests in both societies.

  • Manage online event platforms, such as in house CRMs and relevant website pages, facilitating smooth registration, payment processing, and attendance tracking.

  • Analyse feedback and engagement data from events to continuously improve future programming and enhance the societies’ reputation.

  • Collaborate with committees to design innovative event formats and develop partnerships for joint events, maximising participation.

2. Financial Management Administration

  • Support the societies’ treasurers as the sole administrator and key contact for the societies’ bank accounts, ensuring robust compliance with financial controls and banking SOPs.

  • Process all financial transactions related to events, sponsorships, and society operations, maintaining accurate and timely records.

  • Prepare monthly financial reports, reconcile income and expenditures for events, and support budgeting activities in collaboration with Treasurer and Chair.

3. Systems Data Management

  • Administer membership and event management systems, ensuring data accuracy and the integrity of reporting for both societies.

  • Provide regular analysis of attendance and engagement, supporting strategic decision-making.

4. Governance Compliance

  • Coordinate monthly committee meetings and AGMs for both societies, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and documenting minutes.

  • Support audit readiness and ensure governance compliance, working alongside the Secretary and Chair.

5. Regional Outreach, Sponsorship Partnerships

  • Act as a regional ambassador for Chartered Accountants Ireland across Northwest and Midwest, representing the societies at events and partner meetings.

  • Strengthen engagement with students, early-career professionals, sponsors, and the broader business community.

  • Identify, secure, and manage sponsorships for flagship events and initiatives to ensure the delivery of sponsor benefits.

  • Cultivate partnerships for collaborative events, contributing to the societies’ commercial viability and community impact.

Scope Impact

  • Lead and deliver a multi-event annual program across both regions, covering five counties and engaging two voluntary committees.

  • Drive member engagement and professional development through dynamic event programming and strategic outreach.

  • Maintain strong relationships with education, business, and media partners to expand the societies’ influence.

  • Uphold financial integrity, governance compliance, and brand consistency for both societies.

Person Specification

  • Extensive experience in event management, program delivery, or related fields with a proven record of successful event execution.

  • Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills, capable of managing multiple projects across two societies.

  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative partner with volunteer committees and external stakeholders.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence and compliance.

  • Familiarity with membership and event management platforms is highly desirable.

Reporting Structure

The Operations, Engagement and Events Executive reports directly to the District Global Member Manager and supports the Chairs of both the Northwest and Midwest District Societies, working closely with Treasurers, Secretaries, and committee members to fulfil the Societies’ strategic objectives in line with Chartered Accountants Ireland strategy27.
