RESPONSIBILITIES

Cost Accounting & Analysis
  • Develop and maintain standard costs for products and services.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide insights into operations and supply chain teams.
  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost of goods sold reporting.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes with cost-related entries and reconciliations.


Financial Planning & Support
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities related to manufacturing costs.
  • Analyze cost trends and KPIs to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Provide financial data and analysis to support strategic initiatives and capital investment decisions.


Compliance & Controls
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and corporate accounting policies.
  • Support internal and external audits with cost accounting documentation and analysis.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for cost accounting processes.


Systems & Process Improvement
  • Collaborate on ERP system enhancements related to cost accounting.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline cost accounting workflows and improve data accuracy.
  • Support the Controller in driving continuous improvement initiatives aligned with the Crane Business System.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 3-5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • High integrity and alignment with Crane's core values and ethical standards.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.


EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
