Your Impact

Join OpenText as a Senior Storage Administrator in Cork, Ireland, where you will assist with the general maintenance and upkeep of our global storage environment. This includes deploying storage changes, collaborating with vendors, maintaining storage infrastructure, ensuring performance specifications are met, and performing other duties as required.

You will support the Operations Organization by employing systematic approaches that translate operational storage needs into configuration specifications. This ensures a robust, stable, and maintainable production storage environment that meets or exceeds all business requirements.

  • Participate in strategic projects
  • Provide oversight of the global storage footprint
  • Provide storage forecasts based on usage and trends
  • Stay up to date with storage manufacturers' product offerings
  • Adhere to all ITIL standards and processes
  • Provide Level 3 expertise for break/fix issues
  • Ensure accurate and non-impactful changes are implemented in the production environment by working with Technical Services storage resources
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call support on a rotating basis

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Information Systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5-8 years of progressively responsible experience in:
    • Primarily EMC and NetApp storage technologies; familiarity with HP 3PAR Storage Array installation, configuration, and administration is considered an asset
    • Storage allocation, upgrades, and optimization standards
    • Storage performance tuning
    • Proactive monitoring and tools implementation
    • Cisco MDS and Brocade SAN switch installation, configuration, and administration
    • Storage management tools (ECC, SE, ESRS, SCG, SMC/SPA, NetApp DII)
    • Experience with EMC PMAX, VMAX, UNITY, VNX, Symmetrix, and Celera platforms, HP 3PAR storage, NetApp, and Cisco/Brocade SAN switches
    • Familiarity with VMware is considered an asset
    • Basic understanding of system administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning for RedHat Enterprise Linux, HP-UX, Solaris, and Windows Servers
  • Experience with iSCSI, NFS, NAS, SAN, FC, CIFS, S3 (object)
  • Exposure to Public Cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) is considered an asset, along with scripting knowledge (Python, Ansible, PowerShell)
  • Experience using AI to develop strategies for automating workloads and processes, with a strong commitment to operating in a safe and secure manner to prevent the exposure of sensitive information in any public domain
