The Finishing Foreman is responsible for taking a project from first fix stage through to final client handover.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all finishing trades including carpentry, plastering, painting, tiling, flooring, and joinery.
- Manage subcontractor sequencing to maximize workflow efficiency and avoid trade congestion in confined spaces.
- Contribute to short-term programming and look-ahead schedules to ensure milestone delivery targets are met.
- Order finishing materials and monitor site plant/resources to prevent project delays.
- Conduct thorough inspections of all finishing works against architectural drawings and project specifications.
- Lead the snagging process, creating, managing, and closing out defect lists promptly.
- Oversee de-snagging crews to ensure a flawless finish before client walkthroughs.
- Compile Quality Assurance (QA) and handover documentation to support the final sign-off.
- Enforce site safety policies, ensuring all finishing teams adhere to strict health and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily site diaries, labor allocations, and material delivery logs.
- Chair or attend coordination meetings with site management, subcontractors, and design teams.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 to 5+ years of dedicated experience as a Finishing Foreman on residential developments
