This role is part of a national operations team for Rinn Artificial Intelligence - Research & Innovation in Data Science and AI, a multi-institutional interdisciplinary National Centre for Data Science and AI funded by Research Ireland. This role reports to the Head of Costshare Strategy, Operations Manager and the relevant Site institutional leads. Line management lies with the relevant site lead(s).
The purpose of the Senior Research Coordinator (Grants Manager) is to secure significant exchequer and non-exchequer grant funding, to manage existing and new research funding awards, and to evaluate its success. A key responsibility of this position will be to proactively generate new potential collaborations with National & EU colleagues and companies, to develop networks to maximise success in National and International programmes. The Grant Manager will assist in the development and implementation of the Centre's strategy for Horizon Europe and future National and International funding programmes and will identify those actions required to deliver each target and develop tools to monitor and evaluate the Centre's performance. The appointee will develop an effective communication strategy within the Centre to ensure the team is aware of all the opportunities available. The candidate will coordinate, write and submit grant proposals and will assist researchers and partner organisations (including industry) with the preparation of Grant Preparation Forms (co-ordinator grants), contract negotiations and post award project implementation. The appointee will create appropriate templates to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of proposal preparation. Senior Research Coordinator (Grants Manager)) will ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of the Grants Programme for UCC and its partner sites, to manage and ensure full implementation of the UCC's policies and procedures, and to engage effectively with our key stakeholders and funders. The Senior Research Coordinator (Grants Manager) will work closely with the Centre executive and management teams to contribute operational expertise in the development and implementation of role related organisational strategies, policies, practices, projects, delivery of KPIs, reporting and the development of funding proposals. The Senior Research Coordinator will also play a key role in the implementation of Centre's reporting schedule in line with its research programme, ensuring that the scope and timelines of all research projects are on schedule, and that Centre complies fully with mandatory reporting requirements
The Grants Manager will manage the resources required for delivering on the above tasks - this will include working in liaison with the Centre operations team, UCC Research Office personnel, and national contact points for each of the Horizon Europe and future work programmes, Enterprise Ireland and Research Ireland staff and the National Centre operations team. The Grants Manager will support Research Ireland in the leveraging of funds from Horizon Europe and will assist in coordinating national efforts/projects for Horizon Europe and future funding programmes.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, enthusiastic, very organised and capable of managing a heavy and diverse workload. She/He will be able to work under pressure and be able to effectively manage many competing demands simultaneously.

Salary: €61,471 p.a. personal rate
Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
