Designer Group
Dublin, Dublin, Ireland Full Time
Reference: 1827531816

About Designer Group

Designer Group is a leading international mechanical and electrical engineering contractor delivering complex, turnkey M&E projects across mission-critical, industrial, energy and commercial sectors.

Headquartered in Dublin, with over 1,000 colleagues across the Group, we operate across Ireland, the UK, mainland Europe and international markets. Our projects include data centres, advanced manufacturing facilities, energy infrastructure and large-scale industrial developments for some of the world's most recognised organisations.

As we continue to grow internationally, strong project governance, labour compliance and subcontractor control are becoming increasingly important to how we protect our people, our projects and our business.

We are now seeking an International Project Compliance Manager to help strengthen compliance across our international project portfolio.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Contracts Compliance, this role will support the delivery of consistent compliance standards across Designer Group's international projects.

This is a mobile, project-facing role, based in Ireland with regular travel to European and international project sites. You will conduct structured site compliance audits, review project documentation, support site-based administrators, identify compliance gaps and ensure actions are tracked through to completion.

You will work closely with Commercial, Project Delivery, Procurement, Finance, People Operations, Talent Acquisition and HSQE to ensure that the right controls, documentation and evidence are in place across each project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct structured compliance reviews across international project sites.
  • Maintain project compliance registers and dashboards.
  • Review subcontractor onboarding, appointment and mobilisation documentation.
  • Check that insurance, bonds, guarantees and contractual records are complete and up to date.
  • Review labour and mobilisation compliance documentation, including right-to-work, visa, permit, A1 and posted-worker documentation where applicable.
  • Support site-based Compliance Administrators, Project Administrators and Document Controllers.
  • Identify compliance gaps, assign corrective actions and track them through to completion.
  • Work with Commercial and Procurement to ensure subcontractors are formally appointed before mobilisation.
  • Coordinate with People Operations, Talent Acquisition, Finance and HSQE where compliance issues cross functional areas.
  • Produce clear audit findings, action trackers and risk updates for the Head of Contracts Compliance.
  • Support the continued development of consistent compliance processes across international projects.

Requirements

About You

You will be practical, organised and comfortable working across live project environments. You will understand the importance of strong documentation, clear governance and early risk identification on complex construction or engineering projects.

You do not need to be a legal expert, but you should be confident reviewing project records, challenging gaps and working with different departments to make sure compliance requirements are being followed.

Essential Requirements
  • 5-8 years' experience in finance, commercial operations, audit, compliance, project controls, contract administration or construction/engineering project support.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and financial controls, documentation standards, audit trails and governance processes.
  • Experience reviewing, validating or maintaining records relating to contracts, suppliers, subcontractors, insurance, approvals, payments, risk or compliance.
  • Ability to interpret process requirements and ensure the correct evidence, documentation and approvals are in place.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams across different projects or business units.
  • Comfortable working with data, trackers, registers, reports and compliance dashboards.
  • Experience identifying gaps, following up on corrective actions and escalating risks clearly.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across Finance, Commercial, Procurement, People Operations, Talent Acquisition, HSQE and project delivery teams.
  • Confidence engaging with site teams, senior stakeholders and external advisors.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across Europe and international project locations.

Desirable Experience
  • Experience within an M&E contractor, main contractor or engineering contractor.
  • Exposure to international or multi-jurisdictional projects.
  • Knowledge of JCT, NEC, FIDIC or bespoke construction contract environments.
  • Exposure to labour mobilisation documentation, posted-worker requirements, A1 certificates, right-to-work evidence or international assignment documentation.
  • Experience supporting site-based administrators, document controllers or compliance coordinators.
  • Experience producing compliance dashboards, audit trackers or project governance reports.
