We are seeking a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Researcher to join our research team. The significant increase in cancer survivorship rates necessitates a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to supportive care services. The Irish Cancer Society funded LIAM Mc Trial (short for Linking In with Advice and supports for Men with Metastatic Cancer) and the LYSA study (Linking You to Support and Advice) at University College Cork (UCC) are pioneering, award-winning clinical trials focused on survivorship care for men and women on the cancer journey. The LIAM Mc trial is was a single-arm feasibility study involving a 12-week men's cancer survivorship programme alongside routine follow-up care in patients with advanced genitourinary malignancies. The Linking You to Support and Advice (LYSA) trial assessed the feasibility of a complex-intervention which incorporated a nurse- and dietitian-led multidisciplinary clinic and a digital platform for capturing and responding to electronic Patient-Reported Outcome (ePRO) data for women with early-stage breast and gynaecologic cancer less than 12 months post-primary curative therapy. Follow-on LYSA studies reflect co-design approaches to intervention development for women with both primary and metastatic breast cancer.
This post doctorate post will involve supporting the LIAM Mc and the LYSA research teams in conducting research, dissemination of findings, planning future grant applications and follow-on cancer survivorship studies.
