Head of Tooling & Automation - CTO Track Role in a Leading MSP

We're hiring on behalf of a forward\-thinking MSP looking for a hands\-on technical leader to take full ownership of their internal and client\-facing tooling ecosystem.
<\/p>
This is a unique opportunity for a Level 3 Engineer or a very strong L2 Engineer from an MSP background who wants to step into something more strategic, high\-impact, and autonomous. You will act as the key decision\-maker for the full stack of internal platforms (PSA, RMM, documentation, quoting, billing, automation) and the client\-facing technology suite (cybersecurity, backup, endpoint management, etc.).

Think of this as the MSP equivalent of a Technical Architect or CTO - but with far greater autonomy and the ability to shape internal systems, client tools, operational standards, and future strategy.

Requirements<\/h3>
Key Responsibilities:<\/b> Own, optimise, and secure all internal platforms (PSA, RMM, documentation, quoting, billing, automation) Act as internal product owner for all client\-facing toolsets and platforms Lead automation and scripting efforts to improve workflows and eliminate manual tasks Evaluate and implement AI tools that enhance operational efficiency Drive security and compliance best practices (ISO27001, GDPR, vendor governance) Collaborate with Sales, Technical, and Finance teams to align tooling with business needs Play a leadership role in shaping internal standards and continuous improvement initiatives You Will Bring:<\/b> Proven experience in a managed services or IT solutions environment Strong technical foundation across internal systems and SaaS integration Demonstrated experience automating a real\-world project (any tool - PowerShell, Power Automate, scripting, etc.) A mindset for improving systems, reducing friction, and raising standards Familiarity with ISO27001 or similar compliance frameworks (nice to have) Why Apply:<\/b> High\-autonomy strategic role with influence across internal and client\-facing platforms Ideal step up for an MSP Engineer ready to move from operations into technical leadership Excellent salary package: 70,000-80,000 basic + bonus + pension + benefits <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
