Key Responsibilities
Duties:

-Day to Day Management of the weekly/monthly payroll process for 3 entities across Ireland and the UK.
-Maintaining payroll information and ensuring the correct approval processes have been adhered to.
-Ensure all payroll data is entered accurately and timely, including new hires, leavers, tax changes, and other payroll-related information.
-Understand the various working hour contracts and rates that are operated by the business.
-Management of all aspects of the payroll process incl. BIK, pension and other voluntary and statutory deductions and benefits.
-Calculation of variable amounts due to bonus, holiday pay, sick pay, maternity pay, overtime etc.
-Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records.
-Compilation and posting of payroll journals and maintaining payroll related reconciliations within Excel.
-Liaise with the accounting team to ensure accurate coding of weekly wages.
-Calculation and processing of the monthly submissions to Revenue/HMRC and ensuring weekly reporting requirements are met.
-Monthly Submissions to Pension providers, TEEU and CWPS.
-Review and update the payroll procedures and policies to reflect current processes and changes in legislation.
-Validate that internal controls are implemented and operational in collaboration with the wider Finance and HR teams.
-Complete payroll reports for record-keeping purposes or managerial review.
-Maintain and monitor the Payroll Mailboxes on a daily basis.
-Management of Employee Expenses Payment Runs and petty cash claims for employees and company group offices.
-Primary point of contact to support issue resolution in relation to payroll discrepancies or employees queries in a timely manner, maintaining an audit trail of queries in the event issues are escalated.
-Supervise and develop Payroll staff ensuring high accuracy and efficiency standards.
-Lead payroll audits and handle year end roll overs and requirements.
-Developing ad hoc financial and operational reporting and metrics as required.
-Active engagement as requested as new systems and accounting and reporting tools are rolled out.
-Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Skills:
  • 5+ years of payroll experience and experience in a similar lead role.
  • Experience managing multi-jurisdictional payroll operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • IPASS payroll qualification.
  • Extensive understanding of payroll principles, practice and standards.
  • Strong Payroll Software and Excel experience.
  • Target driven and ability to work proactively and collaboratively with other departments and to own initiative.
  • Proven experience of managing and dealing with multiple demands and competing priorities to strict deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience.
  • Ability to manage internal and external confidential information with utmost discretion.
  • Experience leading system implementations or payroll transformation programmes.
