- Overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of all warehouses, including receiving, storing, and shipping products or materials, while ensuring efficient coordination amongst the staff.
- Monitoring and enforcing compliance within company policies and safety regulations to ensure the safety of all warehouse employees.
- Implementing and enforcing safety procedures for the safe handling, storage, and movement of chemicals according to company and regulatory guidelines.
- Managing inventory, which includes maintaining accurate records and resolving any discrepancies in conjunction with the Stock controller and Operations Manager.
- Effectively plan and allocate resources to meet daily operational requirements, while maximizing productivity and minimizing downtime.
- Train, mentor, and provide regular feedback to warehouse staff in order to cultivate their skills and expertise, enabling them to carry out their duties with utmost efficiency.
- Work together with other departments, such as logistics, transport and customer service, to effectively manage and prioritize incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Consistently seek out opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and decrease costs.
- Carry out inspections and audits to maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with quality standards.
- Manage and resolve any warehouse-related issues or conflicts that may arise, ensuring prompt resolution and maintaining positive employee relations.
What You Bring:
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively supervise and motivate warehouse staff (12 staff).
- Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software to track and manage inventory, shipments, and productivity metrics.
- Sound knowledge of warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping procedures, as well as inventory control techniques.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills to identify and resolve operational challenges promptly.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines and operational requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and inventory management.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and demands.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse data and identify trends to drive continuous improvement.
