Post Summary:

This is a permanent senior technical role in the ICT Facilities team in Trinity's IT department, reporting to the ICT Facilities Manager. The post holder will provide expertise in the advanced configuration, management and support of the university's wired and Wi-Fi networks including the physical information transport infrastructure, access layer and aggregation layer network equipment. The post holder will have advanced knowledge and use of specialist Wi-Fi design software and provides operational support to the college community, both staff and students regarding all aspects of the Trinity network under the remit of ICT Facilities. In addition, the role involves project managing structured cabling infrastructure installs and active equipment in telecommunications rooms. The role requires experience in IT network equipment, environmental controls, UPS, CCTV and physical access control in telecommunications rooms and data centres. It also requires the management of vendors and contractors, internal liaisons and coordination with Estates and Facilities and IT Services.

The post is tenable immediately, and the successful candidate will be expected to take up the appointment as soon as possible.

Post status: Permanent Contract

Hours of Post: 36.5 hours per week

Salary: This appointment will be made on the Chief Technical Officer Specialist Salary Scale (€69,805 - €78,852 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales. (tcd.ie)
