From our Irish base in Cork, we offer a full-service approach, including design, customer support, and installation of Christmas Decorations and Lights to Shopping Centres, Towns and Businesses across Ireland. We are part of MK Global, one of the world's largest designers and manufacturers of Christmas lights, with 44 subsidiaries across 120 countries.
The role is Cork based, but we will consider exceptional candidates based in Dublin and surrounds, as the majority of our customers are in this location.

Job Summary
The Design and Sales Manager is responsible for is responsible for working with shopping centres, businesses, and town management teams to develop creative and commercially effective Christmas lighting and decoration concepts. The role involves conducting site visits, preparing tailored design proposals, and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients to ensure continued customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits to shopping centres, retail parks, businesses and town centres to assess locations for Christmas lighting and decoration installations.
- Develop creative and practical design proposals for lighting displays and decorations tailored to each location.
- Prepare and present design concepts, visual proposals, and recommendations to clients.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with installation capabilities.
- Manage and maintain relationships with existing clients, acting as the primary point of contact for design and seasonal planning.
- Identify opportunities to enhance or expand existing lighting and decoration programmes with current customers.
- Ensure proposed designs meet safety, operational, and aesthetic standards.
- Provide guidance to clients on layout, lighting effects, themes, and overall seasonal presentation.
- Support the planning and coordination of installations where required.
- Maintain accurate records of site assessments, proposals, and client communications.
- Conduct regular visits to customer sites throughout the year to strengthen relationships, review service delivery, identify future opportunities, and drive account growth.
- Develop in-depth expertise across the company's product range, clearly articulating product features and benefits, and demonstrating how solutions meet the needs of existing and prospective customers.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, internal teams across MK Ireland Ltd. and MK Global, and all key stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in design, visual merchandising, lighting design, event décor, or a related field.
- Strong creative and conceptual design ability.
- Excellent client relationship management and communication skills.
- Ability to assess large public spaces and translate ideas into practical design proposals.
- Strong organisational and project planning skills.
- Proficiency in design or presentation tools (e.g., CAD, SketchUp, Adobe, or similar) is advantageous.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel for site visits.
