Your Role

A real development track: This is a hands-on trainee role designed to build you into a qualified accountant over time - you'll be supported to learn core finance processes while you progress your professional exams.

  • Reporting to and working with the Assistant Financial Controller, you'll support the monthly Record to Report (R2R) cycle, including preparing and posting journals with clear back-up and explanations.
  • Support accurate, timely month-end through preparation of accruals, prepayments and assigned balance sheet reconciliations, escalating queries and reconciling items as needed.
  • Maintain day-to-day cashbook activity including bank postings and bank reconciliations, monitoring daily cashflow and arranging bank transfers.
  • Support intercompany reconciliations, ensuring issues are followed up and documentation is maintained to a high standard.
  • Work with Senior Financial Accountants on month-end analysis and "deep dives", liaising with budget holders/centre managers to understand transactions and movements.
  • Help maintain a strong control environment and audit readiness through robust working papers, compliance with policies and controls, and practical process improvements as you develop.

What Makes This Role Special?

  • High Social Impact: Start your accounting career properly: build real month-end and balance sheet experience in a structured R2R team
  • Progression built in: You'll be expected to grow your capability and take on increased responsibility as you develop towards qualification
  • Hybrid Flexibility: Enjoy a balance of office and remote working.

  • Organised and able to prioritise work to deadlines; clear written and verbal communicator.
  • A values-driven, growth mindset, solutions focused professional who cares about social impact.
  • Grit, hard work ethic, a sense of humour, positive attitude and humility.
