Finance Manager – Renewable Energy (Solar)
Location: Near Midleton, Cork (On-site with some WFH flexibility)
Salary: €70,000 – €75,000 (DOE)
Type: Full-Time | Permanent

Power the Financial Future of a Fast-Growing Renewable Energy Business

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly growing renewable energy company operating at the forefront of Ireland’s solar sector. With a strong pipeline of residential and commercial projects, the business is scaling quickly and investing heavily in people, systems, and sustainability.

We’re looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function, strengthen controls, and provide meaningful commercial insight to support continued growth. This role sits at senior management level, reporting directly to the Managing Director and playing a key role in shaping financial strategy.

The Role

As Finance Manager, you’ll oversee end-to-end financial operations within an SME environment—balancing operational delivery with strategic input. This is a role for someone comfortable being close to the numbers while also stepping back to influence decision-making at leadership level.

You’ll manage one direct report (Accounts Administrator) and act as the main finance lead across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

  • Prepare and present monthly management performance packs

  • Own cashflow forecasting and reporting

  • Develop and enhance performance metrics, including automation where possible

  • Drive cost control and operational efficiency initiatives

  • Oversee AP, AR, and payroll activities

  • Ensure compliance with Irish tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax)

  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors

  • Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures

  • Provide commercial insight into pricing and strategic decisions

  • Identify and implement ERP / accounting system improvements

About You

You’re a proactive, commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working in a growing, fast-paced environment and taking real ownership.

You’ll bring:

  • ACCA / CIMA / CPA qualification

  • Strong experience in a hands-on SME finance role

  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging non-finance stakeholders

  • The ability to step out of day-to-day detail and provide strategic context to senior leadership

  • Experience with finance systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage

  • A solutions-focused mindset with strong organisational and problem-solving skills

Package & Benefits

  • €70,000 – €75,000 salary (DOE)

  • Pension

  • Paid annual leave

  • Some WFH flexibility

  • Long-term career growth within a sustainability-focused business

  • A visible, influential role within the senior management team

Why Join?

  • Be part of a business actively contributing to Ireland’s renewable energy transition

  • Join during a period of strong growth and investment

  • Influence financial strategy, systems, and performance from the inside

  • Work in a company that values innovation, people development, and sustainability

If you’re ready to take ownership of finance in a growing renewable energy business and make a genuine impact, we’d love to hear from you.
