Basic Role Summary:

A hands-on Financial Controller to lead the day-to-day financial operations of Chanelle Pharma. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role has responsibility for the integrity of the general ledger, timely month-end and year-end close, and the effective management of accounting operations across financial accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and treasury. The role leads a team of approximately 15 and plays a key role in ensuring robust financial controls, statutory compliance, and high-quality financial reporting.


Location: Onsite at our facility in Loughrea.


As our Financial Controller, your key responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and delivery within agreed timelines.

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of approximately 15 across Financial Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Treasury.

  • Maintain integrity of the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and fixed asset register.

  • Oversee AP and AR cycles, including payment runs, credit control, and working capital management.

  • Support cash flow reporting and day-to-day treasury operations.

  • Prepare statutory accounts and act as key point of contact for external auditors.

  • Ensure compliance with VAT, tax filings, statutory reporting, and internal financial controls.

  • Support the Group Financial Controller and CFO with management reporting, analysis, and ad hoc finance projects.

  • Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, systems, and internal controls.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).

  • 7+ years post-qualification experience, with at least 2–3 years in a Financial Controller or senior finance management role within a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.

  • Proven experience managing large or multi-functional finance teams.

  • Strong hands-on experience with month-end close, statutory reporting, and audit management.

  • Experience operating in an SAP environment strongly preferred.

  • Manufacturing or pharmaceutical industry experience is a strong advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of Irish statutory and regulatory requirements.

  • Hands-on, confident people manager with the ability to lead, develop, and motivate a diverse finance team.

  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to manage end-to-end finance processes.

  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to link financial outcomes to business performance.

  • Effective communicator, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders including Group FC and CFO.

  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to drive process improvement and efficiency.
