We are currently recruiting Catering Assistants and invite interested candidates to attend our upcoming Open Days at Havenwood Nursing Home, Ballygunner, Waterford.
To be considered, please submit your CV now. Suitable applicants will be contacted and scheduled for an interview during one of the Open Day sessions.
Please note: Candidates must be available to attend an interview in person on either 19th or 20th June.

What You'll Do
• Assist in the preparation and cooking of wholesome meals and home baking.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, health and safety, and infection control standards.
• Assist with food ordering, receiving, stock rotation, and safe storage procedures.
• Support menu planning to meet the individual dietary needs of residents.
• Apply knowledge of nutrition for older people, including MUST guidelines.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all kitchen areas.
• Promote person-centred care through respectful and positive interactions with residents.
• Assist with audits, inspections, and maintaining service standards.
• Work flexible shifts including days, evenings, and weekends as required.
What We're Looking For
• Food Handling, HACCP, Manual Handling, and Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults certificates (training can be provided if required).
• A Cook or Chef qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or a healthcare setting is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• A genuine passion for preparing nutritious meals for older people.
• A positive attitude, reliability, and strong teamwork skills.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of care and service.
