UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2, UCD School of Medicine, Temporary 2 years

Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2 within UCD School of Medicine.

This postdoctoral position is based in the School of Medicine at University College Dublin and will contribute to advancing research in glucose metabolism. The induction of glycolysis by hypoxia in cells has important implications for developing our understanding of diseases such as cancer and chronic inflammation. The successful candidate will investigate the mechanism(s) regulating glucose metabolism in intestinal epithelial cells. This work builds on recent findings (Kierans et al. PNAS 2023, Flood et al. JBC 2023, Kierans J Biol Chem 2024) and aligns with the school's strategic focus on translational biomedical research.

Post Doc Level 1 Salary Scale: €47,273 - €53,925 per annum or Post Doc Level 2 Salary Scale: €55,399 - €60,250 Per Annum

Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.

As with the PD1, if you have already completed your PD2 stage in UCD or will soon complete a PD2, or your total Postdoctoral experience, inclusive of the duration of the advertised post, would exceed 6 years, you should not apply and should refer to Research Fellow posts instead.
