Job Description:

Role Summary

The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and supporting building systems and equipment to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant working environment. This position is responsible for day-to-day building maintenance, coordinating schedules, and supervising contractor scheduled works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections on building systems and repair as applicable (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, doors, fixtures).
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests, breakdowns, and emergencies.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and building system issues; implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct basic carpentry, painting, and minor construction tasks as needed.
  • Monitor building conditions to ensure safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory of tools and spare parts.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors; oversee work quality and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Support facility moves, space setups, and equipment installations.
  • Participate in on-call or shift coverage when required.
  • Oversee on-site Health and Safety practices, HSA and internal Audits and ensure alignment with inspection standards and compliance obligations.


Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related technical role.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
  • Ability to read manuals, schematics, and basic technical drawings.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Valid driver's & Forklift license

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills for work order and reporting systems.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently.
  • Good communication
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Trade certification
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulatory standards
