Job Description
Overview
Within ComReg, the Market Framework Division is responsible for a number of ComReg's regulatoryfunctions, including:
• The management of Ireland's spectrum resource, which includes the assignment of radiospectrum and maintaining the integrity of Ireland's radio spectrum by monitoring,compliance and enforcement activities.
• Management of Ireland's National Numbering Scheme
• Evaluating the resilience, security and integrity of electronic communications networks andincluding compliance activities to ensure operators of electronic communications networks
Roles/Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to technically assess applications for radio spectrumlicences such as fixed radio link licences1 and actively engage with licence applicants as part of theassessment process.
The successful candidate will also be required to assist colleagues on mattersrelated to the licensing of radio spectrum as required. The role is for an initial period of 12 months.

Requirements
Qualifications and experience
- A third-level honours degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Physics, or similar discipline.
- Knowledge of radio communication systems and radio frequency propagation.
- Minimum of 6 months of professional work experience, ideally in the communications sector.
- Experience with network planning tool or similar network planning tools.
- Good understanding of the telecommunications market in in Ireland.
- A proven ability to apply analytical and critical thinking techniques to solving problems quicklyand effectively.
