We are currently recruiting for a Community Support to join our Tarasis Healthcare Division!
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Working Hours: 8:30am - 5:30pm (Monday - Friday), plus oncall on a rota basis
Location: Longford, Westmeath, Galway & Roscommon
The Community Support will plan, implement, and deliver a quality service to our service users in the Community and will ensure the performance of Care Staff is monitored and maintained in accordance with Tarasis and Regulatory Bodies standards.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Care Staff:
- Induction of new care staff, alongside Community Manager supervise, mentor process, reviews and supervisions as per the quality assurance schedule.
- Deal with care assistant queries in relation to their work schedule or client concerns.
- Assist community manager with staff monitoring as required.
- Ensure sufficient levels of personal protective equipment (PPE) are available for care staff and ensure they are wearing these when completing the necessary tasks.
- Assist community manager with team meetings.
- Assist with arrangement of care assistant work schedules when required.
- Ensure MIS is accurately updated and maintained at all times.
Service User:
- Deal with service user queries and concerns promptly and record and report all actions.
- Organise and complete an introduction for all new service users.
- Ensure all new referrals and amendments to existing service users are implemented, recorded and communicated to care staff.
- Inform the service user if there are any changes to their scheduled care,
- Carry out care plan review meetings with service user/ their representative.
Other Duties:
- To be available at varying times, which may include early morning and late evening work. The post holder may be required to work weekends and bank holidays when required.
- Maintain professional knowledge and competence on both company policies and procedures and regulatory standards
- To carry out other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the post and the needs of the organisation to develop and maintain service delivery.
- Ensure all information of confidential nature is not divulged to third parties.
What We Need From You:
- QQI Level 5 in Healthcare or Equivalent
- 1 year's experience in team supervision
- Knowledge and experience of working as a care assistant
- Demonstrates eagerness to understand service users needs, promote empowerment, independence and choice
- Ability to maintain accurate and up to date records and care plans in accordance with company procedures
- Ability and desire to work cooperatively with others; collaborating to get the job done.
- Provide support to colleagues to help develop a strong and cohesive team ethos.
- Ability to work on own initiative and without daily supervision
- Accepts that changes in one's role may be required from time to time.
- Competent IT skills
- Excellent command of the English Language - both written and spoken
- Full, current driving licence/ access to a car
