The Purpose of the Role
The School of Medicine is seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Anatomy. The applicant must hold a degree in Anatomy or an anatomically related science, and have a research profile and academic record commensurate to their career stage and the responsibilities of the post. Teaching responsibilities will involve supervision of practical classes, management of dissection theatre activities and lecture delivery for BSc and MSc Physiotherapy students. The post will involve liaison with, and the support of module leads in the coordination and preparation of anatomy practical class teaching and assessments to students (primarily Year 1 & 2 BSc Physiotherapy and MSc Physiotherapy students). The successful candidate will be required to undertake teaching related administrative duties and responsibilities as directed by the Head of Discipline.
The Discipline teaches practical anatomy primarily through dissected and prosected human donor bodies and vertically integrates anatomical knowledge where possible.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in cadaveric anatomy. Experience in undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching is highly desirable. The post holder must have an excellent command of the English language and good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
The successful candidate will be expected to take up post on 17th August 2026.

The school requires a candidate to aid the development and delivery of anatomy curricula taught to physiotherapy and health science disciplines. The Discipline of Anatomy is expanding, and this post will sustain professionally relevant program delivery through teaching using traditional and digital pedagogical resources, rigorous examination, and feedback with student welfare and knowledge central to this post's perspectives. Opportunities to undertake research in the candidate's own field or through departmental collaboration will be possible.
