We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced fund professional to join our Financial Reporting Oversight team, supporting clients across multiple jurisdictions and fund structures.

You will be part of a global team and report to the Head of Financial Reporting Oversight. The team supports activity across Ireland, the UK, Luxembourg, the Channel Islands and Switzerland.

You'll take real ownership from day one, working closely with senior internal stakeholders and external delegates. Who are we looking for?

We're looking for a senior funds professional with strong experience in financial reporting oversight, audit coordination and stakeholder management within a management company, fund administrator, depositary or similar environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable overseeing interim and year-end financial statements across a range of fund structures, managing relationships with auditors and delegates, and taking ownership of issues through to resolution. Experience with Luxembourg funds, and people leadership would be particularly valuable in this role.

What are the minimum requirements for the role?
  • A recognised professional or third level qualification relevant to the role (business, accounting, finance, data analytics or similar preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of funds and/or Management Company activities including UCITS and AIFMD regulations, is preferred.
  • Ability to assess technical requirements on financial reporting issues and resolve with other stakeholders.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Typically 7+ years' experience in asset management or a similar environment.
  • A strong track record of clear, confident written and verbal communication.
  • Knowledge of fund structures and regulatory requirements and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of audit management process.
  • Knowledge of fund structures and/or broader fund operations is a distinct advantage.

What is your role and responsibilities?
  • People manager with supervisory responsibilities for team- including planning workload and performance management.
  • Monitor draft financial statements completion, oversight of audit process to ensure compliance with Carne's regulatory obligations.
  • Review of interim and year-end Financial Statements covering a range of structures including UCITS & AIF products, both regulated and unregulated, primarily for funds domiciled in Luxembourg.
  • Build relationships with auditors ensuring efficient audit process and escalation of priorities issues to satisfactory closure including both audit queries, audit findings, management letters and/or audit debrief actions, where applicable.
  • Engage with Administrators, Investment Managers and Depositaries, as required, as part of the Financial Statements audit or interim reporting process and interact internally with relevant stakeholders to ensure identified issues are addressed.
  • Support reporting to internal Management Committee and Board of Directors, as required.
  • Participate in the preparation of internal and external reporting to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with each of the fund delegates including investment managers, and administrators, to ensure clear lines of communication.
  • Adapt to new tasks and processes requiring support from the Team ensuring that they are implemented and continuously performed to the required standards.
  • Foster a positive team ethic and support the development and training of staff, when required.
  • Oversight of capital adequacy reporting and related issues.
  • Primary escalation contact for financial reporting items for Luxembourg contracted funds.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency, automation and digital solutions, and drive improvement initiatives end-to-end
