Location: Hybrid role

We are looking to recruit an on-site GIS Contractor, working on a hybrid basis, to support a Dublin-based utility organisation on a 12-month contract with the possibility of a further contract extension.

The successful candidates are required to carry out asset data QA, digitising, legacy data improvement, and provide support for various asset data projects, including leakage reduction, GIS data architecture, and public mapping requests. Successful candidates will be trained to carry out specific tasks in line with the operational procedures of the customer.

Requirements (Duties and Responsibilities)
  • Ensure that asset data in GIS is maintained and fit for purpose;
  • Efficiently track and manage asset and location data throughout the asset lifecycle;
  • Support asset data quality assurance and updates in response to changes made or identified in the field;
  • Ensure that mapping is complete, timely and accurate, and that content is appropriate to users' needs;
  • Provide advice for GIS and related asset datasets;
  • Derive trends and key data statistics to support decision making;
  • An understanding of Water & Wastewater Networks would be an advantage;
  • Knowledge and understanding of GIS principles, theories and practices;
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment;
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and work independently;
  • Exercise good judgment with minimal supervision;
  • Good organisational, negotiation and problem solving skills;
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills;
  • Perform other such duties in relation to asset data management as the organisation may reasonably require;
  • Experience with GIS in Utilities is an advantage.


Minimum Requirements (Experiences required for requested Service)
  • Relevant qualification (Degree in Geography/GIS, Science, Engineering, or similar), with relevant post-qualification experience is desirable.
  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS software is required.


Location:

This is a hybrid position. The model requires attendance in the client's Dublin office up to 2 days per week.
