The Purpose of the Role
The School of Social Work and Social Policy offers social work education via the Bachelor in Social Studies (BSS) and the Master in Social Work (MSW). This post is to directly support practice education as an integral component of these flagship social work programmes. Specifically, the clinical tutor will work across the university and hospital sites to co-ordinate, resource and develop social work practice-education for Trinity College BSS and MSW students at St James' Hospital. The appointee will also contribute to the practice education, teaching and research programmes of the School of Social Work and Social Policy, Trinity College.
The clinical tutor will report to the Head of School (Social Work and Social Policy) in Trinity College as the main line manager, and to the Principal Social Worker in St James's Hospital for professional practice purposes.
Context
Candidates must hold a degree in social sciences at Bachelor/Master/PhD level. They must be registered, or eligible to register, as a social worker with CORU, Health and Social Care Professional Regulator in Ireland. They must have a minimum of three years' post qualifying social work practice experience. The successful candidate must be registered with CORU prior to the commencement of the post.
They will have substantial experience in the provision of social work practice education together with excellent social work practice, leadership and administrative skills. The successful candidate will be joining a vibrant and collegiate team with an established track record in social work, education and research.
