Summary of Requirements:   


We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive junior accountant for join our team. This role is ideally suited to a part-qualified accountant who is working towards completing their professional qualifications and is keen to develop their career.

The successful candidate will support the monthly accounting and tax functions of the business, including audit preparation, fixed asset management, tax compliance and the preparation of management accounts. This position plays an important role in maintaining the financial accuracy and integrity of the organisation.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:  

This person will be responsible for the following


  • Assist with the monthly reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts.

  • Support month-end close processes, including bank reconciliations.

  • Prepare and post financial journals in accounting software in accordance with monthly timelines.

  • Help ensure financial reporting deadlines are met in line with compliance requirements.

  • Assist with annual audit, including responding to auditor queries.

  • Manage the recording, tracking and disposal of fixed assets.

  • Prepare and submit tax returns, including VAT

  • Support process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Assist in developing enhanced financial reporting capabilities

  • Provide general support across non-accounting areas (including IT, where applicable and based on experience)

  • Collaborate with team members on ad hoc projects as required

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of financial information

  • Participate in team meetings to support effective communication

  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and health safety regulations

  • Contribute to continuous improvement within the finance function

  • Process and reconcile company credit card transactions

  • Part qualified accountant or actively working towards a professional qualification.

  • Minimum 2 years experience in an accounts or finance role.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Good knowledge of VAT and general tax compliance

  • High attention to detail with strong organisational skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (Microsoft Business Central an advantage)

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to work independently while following direction accurately

  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information

  • Any IT-related skills or experience would be beneficial



The Person:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Good knowledge of VAT and general tax compliance
