About the Role
Bon Secours Health System is seeking an experienced and motivated Electronic Health Record (EHR) Trainer to support the implementation, optimization, and ongoing training of BonsConnect, our Electronic Health Record system.
This exciting role will focus on delivering engaging training programmes, developing high-quality learning resources, and providing hands-on support to staff across our hospital network. The successful candidate will work closely with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to ensure staff are confident and proficient in using EHR applications before, during, and after system implementations, upgrades, and optimization initiatives.
The position requires regular travel between our five hospital sites to provide on-site training and support.

Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery
- Deliver instructor-led EHR training programmes for clinical and non-clinical staff, both in person and virtually.
- Facilitate onboarding and refresher training sessions for new and existing employees.
- Assess user competency and identify training needs and gaps.
- Provide post-training support and troubleshooting assistance.
- Ensure all training activities align with healthcare regulations, data privacy requirements, and organisational policies.
- Travel regularly between hospital locations to deliver training and support.
Training Development
- Support the EHR Training Lead in developing and maintaining training materials, user guides, quick reference resources, crib sheets, e-learning content, and workflow-specific learning tools.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, clinical teams, and operational stakeholders to ensure training content remains accurate and up to date.
- Adapt training materials to reflect site-specific and specialty-specific workflows while maintaining organisational standards.
Go-Live and Operational Support
- Provide at-the-elbow support during EHR go-live periods and major system deployments.
- Assist users with workflow-related issues and escalate technical concerns to the appropriate support teams.
- Support super-user networks and champion programmes across all hospital sites.
- Participate in post-implementation reviews and system optimisation activities.
- Support EHR upgrade and testing activities as required.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clinical leaders, department managers, educators, and operational teams.
- Collaborate with EHR analysts, application specialists, and project teams to understand system changes and associated training requirements.
- Support change management initiatives by promoting user adoption and best practice system use.
Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
- Work with the EHR Training Lead to monitor and enhance training effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate training records and compliance documentation.
- Analyse training outcomes and recommend improvements to training approaches and materials.
- Identify knowledge gaps and develop targeted interventions to improve user proficiency.
- Ensure training content aligns with organisational policies, clinical workflows, privacy regulations, and healthcare standards.
- Promote best practice use of EHR functionality, data quality standards, and patient safety principles.
- Maintain awareness of system updates, regulatory requirements, and healthcare informatics best practices.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Health Informatics, Nursing, Education, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Desirable Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in adult education, training delivery, or a related field.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Previous training delivery experience.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
- Experience developing training materials and supporting adult learning.
- Knowledge of healthcare workflows and compliance standards.
- Experience supporting system implementations or go-live projects.
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
Desirable Experience
- Experience delivering EHR training within an acute healthcare environment.
- Experience working with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, Allscripts, or similar platforms.
- Clinical or healthcare background.
