Senior Python Engineer
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Python Engineer in the Ireland.
This role sits at the core of a modern backend engineering team building high-performance, scalable systems that power advanced mobile marketing and AI-driven products. You will design and develop robust backend services that support large-scale data processing, automation, and real-time operations. The environment is highly collaborative, working closely with product, frontend, and ML teams to deliver end-to-end features. You will contribute to systems that handle asynchronous workloads, long-running jobs, and complex service integrations. The role has a strong focus on performance, reliability, and cost-efficient infrastructure. It offers exposure to cutting-edge technologies including LLM integrations and distributed architectures. You will help shape the backend foundation of products used by global customers.
Accountabilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI, ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Implement and manage asynchronous job processing systems, including task queues, scheduling, retries, and status tracking using tools such as Redis, Celery, or Kafka.
- Integrate internal and external services, including LLM-based systems and APIs, ensuring smooth and secure communication across microservices.
- Ensure system stability through observability practices such as logging, monitoring, alerting, and performance tracking.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, ML, product) to deliver end-to-end features and improve system architecture.
- Contribute to infrastructure design on cloud environments, including containerized deployments and scalable backend services.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Python backend engineering with strong expertise in building production-grade systems.
- Solid hands-on experience with FastAPI and RESTful API design.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and object storage systems such as S3 or equivalents.
- Experience with asynchronous processing systems (Celery, Redis, Kafka) and handling long-running jobs.
- Proven experience working with microservices architectures, including retries, failure handling, and distributed systems design.
- Familiarity with observability tools and practices (logging, monitoring, alerting, tracing).
- Experience working in cross-functional teams including frontend and ML engineers.
- Strong experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes in production environments.
