Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this post is to:
  • The successful candidate will be assigned to manage the day-to-day operational needs within the department.
  • To assist the CNM3 at operational level and to provide cover during her absence.
  • The role involves the implementation of operational processes to meet the standards of best practice and to optimise the use of resources.
  • The CNM2 has a pivotal role in the co-ordination and management of activity and services within the clinical area.
  • The CNM2 is responsible for the provision of professional and managerial leadership within Radiolog.
  • Promote high quality standards of care through demonstration of clinical expertise.
  • Ensure confidentiality on all matters and information obtained during employment.
  • Facilitate the development of documentation, standards and guidelines is best practice to optimise use of resources and to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Participate in cross site meetings in preparation for transition to the new hospital.


Essential Criteria:

  • RCN or RGN with a minimum of 5 year post qualification experience, 3 of which must be recent experience within Children's nursing.
  • Must have experience of delivering quality improvement in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience and knowledge of the recognition and management of the acutely ill child, including but not limited to pre- and post-operative care.
