The College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences (CMNHS) at the University of Galway seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy on a part-time (0.5FTE) specific purpose contract. We are seeking applications for the above post in the Discipline of Occupational Therapy, School of Allied & Community Health at the University of Galway. The appointment will be at the lecturer level on a Type A contract. The successful candidate will be expected to source, allocate and support practice education placements for undergraduate students (see full list of duties below). The Discipline of Occupational Therapy is housed in the Áras Moyola Building where we have state of the art facilities for academic and clinical skills teaching and research.
The B.Sc. (Hons) Occupational Therapy programme is designed to educate those who wish to pursue a professional career in Occupational Therapy. The programme design recognises best practice, aligns with national and international standards, is regulated by CORU and accredited by AOTI on behalf of the World Federation of Occupational Therapy. The post holder will play an important role in ensuring that the curriculum continues to meet professional and regulatory body requirements and keeps abreast with changing approaches to service delivery within the health care sector. The post holder will have an influential role, supporting the BSc Occupational Therapy programme, in ongoing development and innovation, in the delivery of clinical skills teaching, clinical supervision and through student support. They will support the Head of Discipline of Occupational Therapy in establishing new opportunities in Occupational Therapy education and research.

Salary: €65,552 to €104,573 per annum pro rata (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011 and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the University's Remuneration policy.QA321-Updated-PP-Remuneration.pdf(This appointment will be made on the Lecturer scale in line with current Government pay policy)
