Software Quality Engineer (I6)

Global Test Engineering (GTE)

The Global Test Engineering (GTE) team ensures the quality and reliability of manufacturing test systems used to deliver Dell's AI Server and Storage platforms.
As testing becomes increasingly softwaredefined and AIassisted, we are looking for a Software Quality Engineer to help validate systems, expand automation, and improve overall product quality.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys combining technical depth, problem solving, and automation to improve software and system quality.

What You'll Achieve

As a Software Quality Engineer (I6), you will contribute to validating manufacturing test systems and automation software.

You will:

  • Develop and execute automated and manual test cases based on requirements and design specifications
  • Assist in building and maintaining test automation frameworks
  • Validate systems involving software, hardware, firmware, and networking
  • Identify, debug, and clearly document defects, working with engineers to drive resolution
  • Participate in reviews of requirements and designs to improve testability and quality
  • Contribute to improving test coverage, reliability, and execution efficiency
  • Learn and apply AIassisted testing tools and workflows

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in software quality engineering, test automation, or system testing
  • Ability to write and debug test scripts or automated tests
  • Basic understanding of software development concepts and system behaviour
  • Familiarity with test tools, frameworks, or defect tracking systems
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work effectively in Agile, crossfunctional teams
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant QA, testing, or automation experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments, embedded systems, firmware, BIOS, or hardware validation
  • Familiarity with CI/CD or continuous testing practices
