Main Duties
  • Promote Ponsse, the brand and their forestry machinery products in the forestry industry.
  • Be able to provide face to face training with operators of our machines.
  • To understand the local working needs and adjust the machine settings accordingly.
  • Delivery of new, used and demo machines throughout Ireland.
  • Follow the training plan for each machine and candidate.
  • Carry out follow up visits with customers to ensure constant upskilling of operators.
  • Go thought all daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checks on machines with all operators.
  • To set up demonstrations of Ponsse forestry machines throughout the country.
  • Support the sales team.
  • Have a good working knowledge of MS Office and be comfortable working with technology.
  • Be capable of working in a classroom environment for in-office operator training.
  • Pass machines sales and parts enquiries to the relevant colleague.
  • Ensure that any customer breakdowns are passed to the service manager.
  • Inspect and provide reports on used machines, for trade in value and preparing for resale.
  • Assist with the preparation of used machines for resale when required.
  • To set up and attend trade shows, forest machinery events, and roadshows when required.
  • To work in a safe and effective manner protecting themselves, their colleagues and customers and keep a safe and tidy workplace.
  • Be prepared to be flexible in hours worked as the role requires.
  • To complete task-based risk assessments and safe systems of work to ensure that hazards are identified, and the work is safely carried out.
  • To help colleagues with their tasks when required following the safe system of work.
  • Risk Assessments/Timesheets/Job Cards are part of your working day, these documents are to be completed daily.
  • Due to the nature of the work, you must be prepared to stay overnight at all times and carry a change of clothes, this also enables you to put on dry clothing.
  • Only use equipment on which you have been trained and authorised to use.
  • Follow company and site rules, procedures, and policies.
  • Wear the appropriate PPE when required and take care of all issued PPE.
  • Keep the company vehicle in a tidy condition, serviced in line with manufacturers requirements and is fully roadworthy.
  • Ensure that rest breaks are taken and that working hours are not exceed. Driving is classed as working.


Support Duties
  • Greet visitors and external customer in a polite and helpful manner.
  • Answer the telephone, using a polite and helpful manner.
  • Wear the corporate clothing and ensure a tidy appearance as you are the public face of Ponsse Machines Ireland Ltd.
  • Undertake required training to enable the role to be effectively carried out.
  • Cooperate with the management during any investigation.
  • Report any incidents or near misses.
