The position requires strong analytical thinking, systems design, and practical delivery capability, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
• Map and understand end-to-end workflows across the continuum of care (patient presents to post surgery follow-up) and the systems that support them.
• Design and implement improvements that make pathways more efficient, reliable, and consistent for patients and care teams.
• Turn clinical and operational needs into clear requirements and functional specs that delivery teams can build.
• Work with hospital teams and internal partners (operations, logistics, EDT, engineering, product teams) to deliver solutions.
• Evaluate existing systems and recommend enhancements, integrations, or redesigns.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, supportable, and aligned to organisational goals.
• Document workflows, system designs, and decisions so solutions can be validated, adopted, and maintained.

Required Qualifications
• L8 Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience analysing and improving complex systems or end-to-end processes.
• Strong understanding of systems thinking, process mapping, and optimisation approaches.
• Experience translating requirements into system designs, specifications, and deliverable plans.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in operational and technical environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to explain complex topics in a clear, practical way.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with process mapping, modelling/simulation, or analytics tools.
• Experience in healthcare, hospital operations, or another regulated environment.
• Understanding of enterprise systems and integrations (for example Electronic Health Records, scheduling/workflow tools, Enterprise Resource Planning, Warehouse Management Systems).
• Relevant certifications (for example Lean Six Sigma or Systems Engineering).
• Experience in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or inventory management systems.
• Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
• Experience with modelling tools, simulation software, or data analytics platforms.
• Knowledge of automation, integration, or enterprise systems (ERP, WMS, etc.).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, Systems Engineering).

Key Skills & Competencies
• Strong stakeholder management and credibility with clinical specialists and hospital operations teams.
• Systems thinking across end-to-end pathways (people, process, technology, data).
• Structured problem-solving and ability to simplify complex workflows into clear requirements.
• Clear communication across clinical, operational, and technical audiences.
• Delivery mindset: prototype → pilot → scale, with measurable outcomes.
• High documentation discipline and attention to detail.
• Experience capturing workflows through shadowing, workshops, and process mapping and translating findings into requirements and measurable outcomes.
• Experience partnering with technical delivery teams (engineering, product, user experience, data) to deliver solutions into operational settings.
• Exposure to pre-operative pathways (referral/triage, pre-assessment, imaging workflows such as CT/MRI/X-ray) and/or post-operative rehabilitation pathways is beneficial but not essential.
• Systems thinking and analytical mindset.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills (clinical, operational, and technical).
• Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity and still drive progress.
• Continuous improvement and practical delivery focus.
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail, with a broader strategic view.

Working Conditions
