Project Worker, Greenhills South Dublin Aftercare

Location: Dublin

Contract: Full Time, Permanent Contract

The purpose if this position is to work as part of the Aftercare Team on a 7 day rota to provide care and support for the young people resident in the project as they prepare for independent living.

What you will do:

  • Work within the overall aims and objectives of Focus Ireland and in line with organisational policies and procedures.

  • Develop and implement individual care plans to support residents in progressing towards independent living.

  • Provide holistic support to young people, including self‑care, health, budgeting, domestic skills, and confidence‑building.

  • Advocate on behalf of residents in areas such as housing, social work, social welfare, education, training, and legal rights.

  • Liaise with and refer residents to relevant external agencies and services.

  • Provide one‑to‑one support and key working to residents within the project.

  • Assist in the planning and facilitation of group work sessions for residents.

  • Work as part of a rota covering a 7‑day service.

  • Support the maintenance of a clean, safe, and well‑managed living environment within the project.

  • Maintain accurate case records, statistics, and provide regular updates to the Project Leader on individual cases.

  • Attend meetings, supervision sessions, training, and contribute to project evaluation and service development.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, work collaboratively with other Focus Ireland services, and undertake additional duties as assigned by management.

What you will need:

  • A Third Level qualification at degree level in the area of social care i.e. youth work, social studies, addiction, psychology etc and/or be a CORU registered Social Care Worker.

  • Extensive, relevant work experience working with young people in care or marginalised young people.

  • Experience of key-working clients or individual case-work.

  • Experience of managing challenging behaviour.

  • Good understanding of the issues affecting young people leaving care and in aftercare.
