Rental & Sales Manager

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development
  • Take ownership of monthly and annual sales targets for rental revenue and utilisation
  • Proactively generate new business through outbound calls, local networking, and client visits
  • Develop and grow relationships with corporate clients and local businesses
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities across the fleet and services
  • Work closely with the General Manager to implement strategies that increase revenue and market share

Operations & Fleet Management
  • Oversee daily operations of the rental branch, including vehicle logistics, planning, returns, and damage control
  • Ensure all rental processes are completed efficiently and accurately
  • Maintain accurate records of fleet inventory, rental agreements, and vehicle movements
  • Optimise fleet utilisation to maximise availability and profitability
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and legal requirements


Customer & Account Management
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and disputes professionally and efficiently
  • Deliver a high standard of service to drive repeat business and long-term relationships

Financial & Performance Management
  • Deliver against agreed revenue, utilisation, and cost targets
  • Monitor performance metrics and report on sales and operational KPIs
  • Maintain strong cost control and financial awareness across the branch


Skills & Person Specification
  • Strong sales mindset with a proven ability to meet or exceed targets
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Confident in telephone sales, in person meeting and customer service
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Commercially aware with solid financial understanding


Experience Required
  • Experience in vehicle rental, contract hire, or LCV sector (preferred)
  • Proven track record in sales, business development, or account management
  • Experience in logistics or fleet operations
  • Vehicle refurbishment knowledge is advantageous
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
