FREIGHT SALE EXECUTIVE


Role Overview

The Freight Sales Executive will support the commercial team in developing customer relationships, generating new business opportunities, and delivering high levels of customer service. Working closely with the Dublin Sales Manager and wider operations team, the role provides an excellent opportunity to develop experience within the shipping, logistics, and commercial sectors.

The successful candidate will assist with sales enquiries, sales visits, customer communications, quotation preparation, and general business development activities while gaining valuable industry knowledge and commercial experience in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Dublin Sales Manager and commercial team in day-to-day sales and customer service activities

  • Assist in identifying and developing new business opportunities through research, outbound calls, and client engagement

  • Prepare and issue quotations to existing and prospective customers in a timely and professional manner

  • Respond to customer enquiries by phone and email and ensure all queries are handled efficiently

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, shipping lines, and internal departments

  • Assist with maintaining customer records, pricing information, and sales documentation

  • Liaise with shipping lines and other service providers to obtain current rates and operational information

  • Support customer visits, meetings, and general business development activities as required

  • Develop an understanding of shipping, logistics, and port operations through ongoing training and practical experience

  • Assist the commercial team in achieving departmental targets and objectives

  • Carry out additional duties and administrative tasks as reasonably required by management

Skills Experience

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally

  • Good organisational and administrative skills

  • Customer-focused with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems

  • Minimum 2 years of previous Freight/Sales experience

  • Freight/Sales experience - mandatory.

  • Knowledge of freight CRM systems is required.
