About The Company

MongoDB's mission is to empower innovators to create, transform, and disrupt industries by unleashing the power of software and data. We enable organizations of all sizes to easily build, scale, and run modern applications by helping them modernize legacy workloads, embrace innovation, and unleash AI. Our industry-leading developer data platform, MongoDB Atlas, is the only globally distributed, multi-cloud database and is available in more than 115 regions across AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. Atlas allows customers to build anywhere-on the edge, on premises, or across cloud providers. With offices worldwide and over 175,000 developers joining MongoDB every month, it's no wonder that leading organizations, like Samsung and Toyota, trust MongoDB to build next-generation, AI-powered applications.

About The Team

The MongoDB Technical Services Portfolio Management Office (PMO) enables strategic execution and organizational transformation across our global Technical Services (TS) organization. Supporting millions of developers and 50,000+ customers worldwide, our PMO facilitates portfolio governance, capability development, and cross-functional collaboration that drives measurable customer impact and business value.

As trusted partners and strategic enablers to Technical Services leadership, our PMO implements mechanisms and frameworks that accelerate decision-making, optimize our investments, and ensure alignment between global strategy and regional execution. Through systematic portfolio management and cross-functional partnerships, we empower our teams to deliver exceptional results while building sustainable, high-performing capabilities that scale with MongoDB's rapid growth.

Our PMO operates as a bridge-building organization, connecting regional expertise with global strategy, facilitating knowledge sharing across cultures and time zones, and championing customer-centric approaches that translate internal excellence into external value. This collaborative approach positions Technical Services and MongoDB to capture emerging market opportunities, maximize stakeholder value, and set new industry benchmarks.

About The Role

As "EMEA PMO Manager, Technical Services" you'll establish and scale PMO capabilities that drive regional success while contributing to global PMO strategy development. You'll build a high-performing distributed team of Program Managers and create excellence standards that ensure global alignment and regional effectiveness.

In this strategic leadership role, you'll guide EMEA PMO operations through portfolio governance, talent development, and organizational transformation. Partnering with global PMO and Technical Services leadership teams, you'll champion regional expertise and cultural adaptation while translating global strategic priorities into successful regional outcomes across MongoDB's diverse markets.

The ideal candidate will be a:

  • Strategic Architect: Someone who naturally sees beyond traditional boundaries and identifies transformative possibilities. A leader who instinctively connects operational work to strategic outcomes and has the courage to champion bold, systematic change despite initial skepticism or resistance.
  • Customer Champion: Someone who obsesses over customers in every decision and refuses to accept the status quo if it doesn't translate to customer value. Someone who asks "how does this help our customers?" and builds teams that share this customer-first mindset.
  • Results Driver: A data-driven leader who instinctively measures what matters and communicates impact clearly. Someone who balances analytical rigor with pragmatic action, using insights to drive decisions rather than just reporting metrics.
  • Bridge Builder: A collaborative leader who naturally connects people, ideas, and resources across boundaries. Someone who builds trust quickly, facilitates difficult conversations, and creates lasting partnerships that outlive individual initiatives.
  • Complexity Navigator: A systems thinker who excels in ambiguous environments with multiple moving parts. Someone who untangles interdependencies across regions, stakeholders, and priorities, creating order from chaos while maintaining strategic momentum.
  • Talent Builder: A leader who genuinely invests in others' success and sees developing people as their highest leverage activity. Someone who creates psychological safety for growth while setting high standards, building careers rather than just managing performance.
  • Sustainable Leader: A thoughtful leader who balances ambition with wisdom, pushing for excellence while protecting team wellbeing. Someone who builds for the long term and understands that sustainable performance requires both challenge and support.

Should I Apply?

If you're passionate about building world-class PMO capabilities, developing talent, and driving strategic impact across diverse markets, we encourage you to apply - even if you don't meet all the criteria listed. We value diversity and welcome candidates from all backgrounds.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Dublin for our hybrid working model. The working model for this role can be in office (3 days a week) or flexible (2 days a week).

Requirements

  • Foundation: At least 8+ years in program/portfolio management with 3+ years in people management and/or team leadership roles, ideally in technical or startup environments. Experience managing distributed teams across multiple regions/cultures preferred.
  • Leadership & People Development: Experience building high-performing, collaborative teams and developing talent at various experience levels. Exceptional ability to attract, develop, and retain high-performing distributed teams through coaching, mentoring, and structured development and performance management programs.
  • Strategic Thinking & Execution: Strong business acumen and critical thinking skills with proven track record of building effective strategies and solutions in rapidly evolving environments. Solid big-picture thinker able to lean into ambiguity, establish clear direction, and drive the delivery of complex initiatives that create measurable business value.
  • Communication & Influence: Outstanding communication skills with ability to influence leadership and senior stakeholders across multiple regions. Experience facilitating cross-cultural collaboration. Fluency in English required; additional European languages preferred.
  • Cultural Understanding: Understanding of EMEA business environments, including cultural nuances, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics. Experience working across multiple countries with awareness of local business practices and customer needs.
  • PMO Maturity: Proven experience implementing PMO frameworks, governance structures, and maturity models. Knowledge of portfolio management best practices, resource optimization techniques, and value realization methodologies.
  • Change Leadership: Experience leading organizational transformation and change management initiatives. Ability to drive the successful adoption of new processes, tools, and methodologies across distributed teams. Track record of building consensus and managing resistance to change.

Success Measures

  • In 3 months: Complete comprehensive EMEA assessment (incl. stakeholder mapping, current state analysis, and capability gaps). Establish strong working relationships with key regional leaders and align with/contribute to building Global PMO practices and standards.
  • In 6 months: Implement consistent PMO operating rhythms and portfolio management frameworks across EMEA. Demonstrate measurable improvements in stakeholder satisfaction and initiative visibility. Establish team development priorities with initial quick wins delivered.
  • In 12 months: Lead a high-performing, cohesive EMEA PMO team with clearly defined roles and accountability structures. Achieve operational excellence in portfolio management and delivery, and establish the EMEA PMO as a trusted strategic partner enabling the successful execution of global Technical Services priorities.

What's In It For You

  • Leadership Impact: Shape Global TS PMO excellence across one of MongoDB's fastest-growing regions. Build and lead a world-class team that enables Technical Services to deliver exceptional customer experiences at scale.
  • Career Growth: Establish yourself as a PMO leader in one of the world's most innovative technology companies. Access executive development programs, join our global leadership community, and benefit from mentorship and knowledge sharing across diverse experience levels and tenures.
  • Global Exposure: Collaborate with diverse, international teams while becoming a regional expert in one of the world's most dynamic markets. Influence global Technical Services and PMO strategy while pioneering regional innovations.
  • Work-Life Harmony, Flexibility & Autonomy: We value work-life balance and offer multiple working models including flexible work-from-home options and collaborative office opportunities. You'll have the autonomy to #OwnWhatYouDo and #MakeItMatter with the support needed to achieve independence.
  • Competitive Compensation & Benefits: Join a company that invests in top talent - we pay in the 95th percentile with comprehensive benefits including equity participation, flexible PTO, generous parental leave, premium health coverage, and many additional regional specific benefits that support your personal and professional success.

To drive the personal growth and business impact of our employees, we're committed to developing a supportive and enriching culture for everyone.
